Many people have reacted to Ja Morant’s gun controversy after the player was suspended by the Memphis Grizzlies last week.

The young point guard has been involved in controversies recently, and Shaquille O’Neal has voiced his opinion on it.

“If you could’ve carried a gun and you’ve been doing it for years and nobody catches you, nobody knows. But when you pull your phone out, swipe, click, swipe again, hit that button, wait for the connection, it’s your fault.”

Shaq didn’t only blast Ja for doing this, which is already bad, but he also took offense with the player’s apology, stating that this wasn’t a mistake, it was a choice, and Ja knew very well what he was doing (11:03 mark).

“You’ve got people talking about he made a mistake – Nah! He made a choice. He made a bad choice. I tell my kids all the time, ‘Sorry I made a mistake,’ no you didn’t. You made a choice.”

“Because common sense will tell you, ‘Nah, I don’t need to have a gun. I’m $230 million in. I don’t need to be having no gun, I’m a role model.’ Lemme do the right thing.”

This situation has sparked many reactions from around the league, and Shaq wasn’t going to be an exception. The Los Angeles Lakers legend knows very well that these situations are dangerous. He revealed he was a bully during his teen years, but after taking things too far, Shaq knew it was time to change his behavior.

Ja is still young and has his entire career in front of him. However, if he doesn’t make better decisions, the player can get involved in more trouble than he is right now, and that isn’t good for anybody.

Danny Green Talks On Ja Morant’s Maturity

Danny Green, who played with Shaq earlier in his career, recently gave his two pennies on this situation, talking about Ja’s maturity and his activities when he’s not playing basketball.

Many people have tried to help Ja during this time, including Kyrie Irving. The Dallas Mavericks star sent a sober message about Morant, saying that he’s made mistakes, but people judge him differently since he’s famous.

Everybody has an opinion on Ja, and this won’t be the last time we hear about this topic. Morant became the man of the hour in the NBA, and we still don’t know when that will stop.
