When it comes to Grizzlies star Ja Morant, nobody can deny that he’s made some poor decisions over the past few months. In fact, dating back over a year now, Morant has been exposed for engaging in extremely shady behavior, the most recent of which involves flashing a fire-arm on Instagram Live. It marked the second gun-incident incident for Morant in less than six months.

We know that a punishment is coming down very soon for Ja, but fans are still split on how long it should be. For some, the Grizzlies star deserves to miss a full season for his actions — for Stephen A. Smith, a simple 25-game suspension would be more than enough in his eyes.

“Adam Silver pretty much indicated that he knows what he’s going to do, but he doesn’t want it to be a distraction from the NBA Finals,” said Stephen A. “We know it’s not good news. Because if it was good news, why not just announce it and move on with the Finals? There are some people who are saying Ja Morant should be suspended for the year. Let me be very, very clear I will be the first to raise holy hell with all that I have if he is suspended for the year. I understand that he has impugned the integrity of the league, but it shouldn’t be a year. It shouldn’t even be half the season. If he ends up getting a 25-game suspension, I think that’s fair.”

Adam Silver did not sound pleased when speaking of Morant’s actions, and everyone is expecting Ja to serve some kind of suspension, whether it’s for 20 games or 60. At this point, it’s the only way to get the message across that this type of behavior is not okay for an NBA superstar.

Can Ja Recover His Reputation?

Morant’s suspension will not be revealed until after the NBA Finals, but it’s not going to stop the speculation from running. Already, people are going crazy trying to imagine the full story of Ja’s antics and what kind of blowback it will have.

As for Ja himself, fans may never look at him the same again, but there’s still time for him to right the ship and put this whole thing behind him before it’s too late.
