Ja Morant’s father, Tee, appears to be his biggest hater. The Memphis Grizzlies star is a big competitor that doesn’t back down to any challenge, and he’s showing that in the past four games.
After leading the Grizzlies to the play-in tournament, they beat the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors, respectively, before landing in Utah to face the Jazz. Morant picked things right where he left them and stole the first game of the series.
Although his team lost Game 2, Morant exploded with 47 points, but that wasn’t enough to beat the Jazz. His father wasn’t impressed with the performance even after his son made history. Talking with 92.9 ESPN Radio, Tee said that 47 weren’t enough; if he had scored more, they would have won the match.
Tee Morant on what he had to say to his son after his record-breaking 47-point performance in Game 2: "Nothing. If he had 60, they would've won the game."

Even Ja confirmed that this was true, revealing that he got the message that it wasn’t enough. This kid has always gone against the odds and if there’s a reason he’s in the NBA, trying to lead a team in the Western Conference is because of the motivation he finds in those around him, especially his father.
he really didn't tell me nothing. no good game or nothing lol . i knew his message was " so, wasn't enough " so i tweeted it 😂 https://t.co/8yeXAppzBU

The Grizzlies receive the Jazz tonight in Game 3, trying to get their second win and the series lead. If Ja did that in Salt Lake City, imagine what he’s preparing to do at the FedEx Forum.
