After a disappointing season, the Toronto Raptors are back on the drawing board as they prepare to re-shape their roster for the future. Obviously, Scottie Barnes holds the keys to the franchise, and he is the guy that will lead them into the future. But where does that leave everyone else?

Regarding 2x All-Star Pascal Siakam, there is no trade imminent for the two-way specialist, but the word on the street is that the Raptors will be actively engaged in trade discussions for the young swingman this summer.

Siakam may not be on the same level as Curry, Giannis, or Embiid, but he’s an excellent option for a team in need of a co-star for their franchise guy. With averages of 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game this season, he could be a needle-mover with the right franchise.

The question is if the Raptors do decide to head in a different direction, which team will be the one to land him?

Could Siakam Become A Laker?

With the Lakers just one win away from the Conference Finals, they certainly don’t need to make any drastic moves, and running it back is still very much in play, regardless of what happens moving forward.

But Siakam is a guy who would fit with the Lakers, and his talent level could alleviate some of the pressure off an aging LeBron James.

“Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Pascal Siakam. Toronto Raptors Receive: D’Angelo Russell (Sign-And-Trade), Malik Beasley,” wrote Lee Tran in a massive trade proposal. “Adding Pascal Siakam to a core that features Anthony Davis and LeBron James would definitely be a winning move. Pascal Siakam is a proven championship winner, and he is a rangy forward that is capable of guarding all five positions, playmaking, and complementary scoring. This season, Pascal Siakam averaged 24.2 PPG, 7.8 RPG, and 5.8 APG for the Toronto Raptors, and it is clear that he would make for a fantastic No. 3 option behind the Lakers’ two superstars.”

Of course, there are several other teams that will take an interest in Siakam, including the Trail Blazers, Celtics, and possibly even the Golden State Warriors.

Until then, the Raptors still have time to decide what they want and what kind of package they think is fair for their best player.
