Video: Russell Westbrook Sings Along To “Count Me Out” At Kendrick Lamar Concert

Russell Westbrook is clearly having fun listening to Kendrick Lamar perform.

Russell Westbrook had a tough season with the Los Angeles Lakers last year. Though he put up solid box score stats, averaging 18.5 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 7.1 APG, Russell Westbrook was frequently criticized for dominating the ball and being inefficient as a third option.

There have been a lot of suggestions that the Los Angeles Lakers will trade Russell Westbrook prior to the start of the season. The Pacers, the Spurs, and the Jazz were viewed as “obvious” landing spots for the point guard.

There are times when trade rumors end up affecting players in a negative way. However, it seems as though none of the trade rumors and the speculation are bothering Russell Westbrook as of right now.

Russell Westbrook’s wife, Nina Westbrook, posted a video of the star point guard vibing at a Kendrick Lamar concert in Los Angeles. Russell Westbrook was seemingly singing along to the song “Count Me Out” from the artist’s latest album, “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers”.

Though the NBA season is just around the corner, it seems as though Russell Westbrook is enjoying the last few moments of the offseason. Going to a Kendrick Lamar concert is definitely something that is enjoyable, as he is a popular artist that makes fantastic music.

Russell Westbrook may be in a different role with the Los Angeles Lakers next season. A recent report suggested that Russell Westbrook coming off the bench has been “strongly considered” by the franchise.

Yet, while the Lakers have been hopeful the Westbrook experiment might be a success this time, sources with knowledge of the situation told The Athletic that the prospect of Westbrook coming off the bench is being strongly considered.

At a minimum, it seems clear Westbrook will have to outplay new addition Patrick Beverley and Schröder if he’s going to retain his starting role. As with most lineup constructions ahead of training camp and the season, it remains a very fluid situation. But sources say first-year head coach Darvin Ham, with the full backing of the organization, is ready and willing to make whatever difficult rotation decisions might lie ahead in the interest of team success.

Hopefully, we will see Russell Westbrook have a good season next year, no matter what role he ends up playing. Westbrook is still a talented player that can slash to the rim well and make plays for others, and perhaps he will end up improving on his efficiency playing against other bench units next season.

However, it is also abundantly clear that Russell Westbrook still has the talent and ability to be a starting-level point guard. Maybe we’ll end up seeing the point guard ball out in a starting role and show that his partnership with LeBron James and Anthony Davis can still work out.
