There are many people who played a role in creating the Golden State Warriors dynasty, and there’s no doubt that GM Bob Myers has been one of those people. He has consistently made shrewd moves that helped the team win multiple titles, notably trading for Andrew Wiggins in 2020.

Even though he has great value to the Warriors franchise, there have been some rumors that have stated the team is bracing for his departure. However, it seems as though the team is doing everything to keep him, as it was recently reported by C. J. Holmes of The San Francisco Chronicle that the team has offered him a new contract that would make him the highest-paid GM in the league.

“While it may not be enough to keep Bob Myers with the Golden State Warriors, multiple league sources believe that the contract offer extended to the team’s president of basketball operations would make him the highest-paid general manager in the NBA,”

There is no doubt that Bob Myers deserves this sort of lucrative contract. He definitely has a solid resume as a GM, and winning four championships with the Golden State Warriors didn’t happen by accident.

The Warriors Need To Improve Their Roster To Win More Championships

There is no doubt that the Warriors will need Bob Myers back to potentially orchestrate some major changes to the roster. In fact, Draymond Green has already stated that the team needs to be better.

“It is hard to win back-to-back championships,” Green said on The Draymond Green Show. “Ultimately, your team has to get better to win back-to-back championships. I’m not sure this team got better, I’m not sure this was a better team. I knew this wasn’t a better team than we had last year… As a competitor, you do all that you can to try to make it happen and win and I think we did that. Like Steve (Kerr) said, it maxed out.”

It will be interesting to see what the Golden State Warriors end up doing this summer. They have some big decisions to make on multiple fronts, and it seems as though everything starts with Bob Myers’ future with the team.
