Top 10 Most Hated Players By NBA Fans

If you’re a sports fan, you’re obviously going to root for the guys on your team while completely hating your rivals, but even so, there are players that even if they wind up helping your team win, you can help but to hate them.

Contents
  • 10. Carmelo Anthony
  • 9. Stephen Curry
  • 8. Russell Westbrook
  • 7. Dwight Howard
  • 6. Draymond Green
  • 5. Kawhi Leonard
  • 4. LeBron James
  • 3. DeMarcus Cousins
  • 2. Zaza Pachulia
  • 1. Kevin Durant

Some players thrive off being villains, and the hate is what motivates them the most, while others wind up making enemies along the road despite being humble or low profile kind of persons.

Others just love being hated and don’t do anything to change their image, and even encourage people to say things at them by acting all petty and stuff. Today, we’re going to let you know about the top 10 most hated NBA players.

10. Carmelo Anthony

You either love or you hate Carmelo, it’s always been like that. I personally believe that he’s one of the best scorers in the history of the game and that he deserves a lot of respect, but I wouldn’t want him playing on my team.

His ball-hogging and ball-stopping have really hurt his teams over the course of the year, as well as the fact that he refuses to embrace a lesser role as he’s aging. Also, he’s constantly making funs of his haters on social media, so that won’t do much to help his case.

9. Stephen Curry

I’ve never understood all the hate Stephen Curry gets. This man is humble, goes to church, doesn’t cheat on his wife and has pretty much a perfect life, so I believe the criticism he gets comes from pure envy.

Some haters state that he’s overrated, that he’s just a shooter and that he’s a humble bragger. I actually believe he’s the greatest shooter that’s ever set foot on the face on earth, so I hope he’s around for many more years.

8. Russell Westbrook

I love Russell Westbrook. I just do. But then again, I don’t want him on my team and would understand why fans wouldn’t like him either, as he’s become a bit of a stat-padder over the past couple of seasons.

I mean, get your triple-doubles, what you’re doing is amazing, but c’mon man, don’t hurt your team in the process. Also, his competitive attitude is something that could make several fans think he’s just a sore loser.

7. Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard has been left a side of the road throughout his entire career, as even though he’s been a hell of a player, we all believe he could’ve been the most dominant big man since Shaq but his attitude stood on the way.

Despite his talents, he’s always been really soft, especially in the post. He lacks the mindset and competitive spirit of a winner, and his childish attitude has made him lost the respect of pretty much the entire community.

6. Draymond Green

Draymond Green loves acting up. He’s the Golden State Warriors ultimate war dog and he’s just not going to back down from anybody, even if that means getting suspended in the playoffs or the Finals.

Green has a really bad temper and he’s not afraid to get in everybody’s face, even if that winds up hurting his team. Still, he’s the most versatile defender in the league, and that kind of spirit has been a huge part of his success.

5. Kawhi Leonard

Kawhi Leonard was one of the most beloved players in the league before all of the San Antonio Spurs drama, and even though I’m not San Antonio fan, I’m really disappointed in the way Kawhi mishandled this situation.

He was really disloyal with such a great organization. Moreover, he was really tough with a guy like Gregg Popovich. So, even if you’re the best two-way player in the world, which I think you are, you don’t have my respect anymore.

4. LeBron James

LeBron James has always been involved in never-ending debates on whether he is or isn’t the GOAT, and even though I don’t personally believe he is, the fact that he’s one of the greatest athletes in history is something not even his fiercest haters could deny.

Still, due to the fact that he joined a superteam to finally be able to win, his losing record in the Finals and his passive-aggressive attitude with his teammates, as well as the Jordan and Kobe comparisons, he’s always been one of the most hated players in the world.

3. DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins has never hesitated to let everybody know a piece of his mind, even if that includes his teammates, his coaches or the entire organization he plays with, and that kind of attitude has made him look a bit whiny and soft instead of tough.
And now that he’s joined the Golden State Warriors, people are getting even more into his nerves, as he gave up a lot of money and bailed on Anthony Davis to piggy-back ride his way to the Finals.

2. Zaza Pachulia

Zaza Pachulia shouldn’t even be playing in this league anymore. Hell, I can’t even fathom the fact that he’s an NBA Champion, considering his evident lack of talent other than just hurting his opponents.

Pachulia has a history of being a dirty player, the latest example being how he injured Kawhi Leonard a couple of years ago. Hopefully, he doesn’t have a chance to hurt anybody again with the Pistons and they’ll just waive him.

1. Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant is the perfect example of a guy that instead of making things better, just keeps making them even worse. Yes, he’s become the best player in the world and is a two time NBA Champion and Finals MVP, but the cost has been huge.

He doesn’t have a true fan base anymore. He lost the respect of most NBA fans due to his burner accounts after joining the Golden State Warriors, while most Dubs fans know that the Warriors are and will always be Curry’s team.
