LeBron James’ career so far has been full of incredible records and statistics, the four-time MVP continues to make history as he enters the back end of his career. This upcoming season, LeBron James will play with yet another number one draft pick in Anthony Davis, this will be the seventh one over his career.

We’ve gone through all seven number one draft picks that LeBron has played with, here’s the list below:

 

Shaquille O’Neal – 1992 No. 1 Draft Pick

One of the greatest centers in the history of the game, Shaq played for six different franchises over his career. One team that people may forget about is the Cleveland Cavaliers, Shaq played just one season there when LeBron James in the 2008-09 season. Shaq arrived in Cleveland with one goal, to win a ring for LeBron, unfortunately for the Cavs, they were defeated by the Celtics in the second round of the playoffs.

 

Joe Smith – 1995 No. 1 Draft Pick

Joe Smith was one of the most traded players in NBA history, the power forward played at a total of twelve different franchises over his career. The journeyman had his chance to play with LeBron twice in two years when he arrived in Cleveland in 2008, Smith was then traded to Oklahoma City but then ended up returning to the Cavs in 2009.

 

Andrew Bogut – 2005 No. 1 Draft Pick

The Australian center signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017, unfortunately he was never really able to play with LeBron James after he broke his leg just 56 seconds into his debut game for the franchise. He was then waived from the franchise by the end of the season.

 

Greg Oden – 2007 No. 1 Draft Pick

Greg Oden played alongside LeBron James in the 2013-14 season for the Miami Heat as they progressed to the franchise’s fourth straight Finals series. The Heat were defeated by the San Antonio Spurs in just five games, this would be Oden’s final appearance in the league, he would join the Jiangsu Dragons in the following season.

 

Derrick Rose – 2008 No. 1 Draft Pick

After a strong start to his career at the Chicago Bulls, Derrick Rose has moved around from franchise to franchise quite frequently. LeBron James and D Rose played together for the Cavaliers in what would be LeBron’s final season with the franchise. Injuries continued to plague Rose’s career and the two were never really able to establish a great deal of chemistry and history together on court.

 

Kyrie Irving – 2011 No. 1 Draft Pick

One of the greatest duos of the modern era, everyone knows about the history of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Irving began his career in 2011 while LeBron was playing for the Miami Heat with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. When LeBron returned home to Cleveland, the two stars had an instant connection and the franchise went on to win the 2016 championship, turning around a 3-1 deficit to the Golden State Warriors. All good things do come to an end, Irving left after the 2016-17 championship to play for the Boston Celtics.

 

Anthony Davis – 2012 No. 1 Draft Pick

A deal with the New Orleans Pelicans has allowed for the opportunity of LeBron and Davis to play together in Los Angeles in the 2019-20 season. This is the seventh number one draft pick that LeBron will play with, it’s also coming with some very high expectations, many believe that this new-look Lakers team can win a championship together. It sure will be exciting to see them come together.
