Michael Jordan Will Donate Entire Share Of Proceeds From ‘The Last Dance’ To Charitable Causes

Michael Jordan’s documentary ‘The Last Dance’ debuted this Sunday and it was a huge success. After over 20 years since that final season he played with the Chicago Bulls, MJ finally greenlighted the release of the 10-part docuseries focused on his last season with Chicago and the construction of one of the biggest dynasties in NBA history.

According to Mike Tollin, Jordan agreed to release the documentary the exact same day the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers threw a parade to celebrate their NBA championship after defeating the 73-9 Golden State Warriors in 2016.

Jordan wasn’t in a good position. LeBron James came closer to him after winning that title and in the case, the Warriors had won, they would have surpassed the 1995/96 Chicago Bulls as the greatest team of all time.

This was mostly about his legacy and not about money, which is the least problem for Michael right now. His Airness wanted to remind everybody who is the real GOAT of basketball and the first two episodes of the documentary did a terrific job proving that.

At this point, he couldn’t care less about the revenues he’ll have with the documentary, which is why he decided to donate the money he’ll get from ‘The Last Dance’ to charitable causes.

Per Forbes:

$0: The amount Jordan will bank from The Last Dance. He’s donating his entire share of the proceeds, which should reach at least $3 million to $4 million, to charitable causes.

This often gets unnoticed, but Michael actually donates plenty of money to charity. He’s been very active doing that recently. Back in October, the Hornets announced the unveiling of the Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic in west Charlotte to help people ‘who are uninsured or underinsured.’

‘The Last Dance’ will air its third and fourth episode this Sunday and we can’t wait to see what MJ and the Bulls will bring this time after two great episodes.
