Bradley Beal On Trade Rumors: “Teams Are Calling, Trying To See If They Can Get Me. That’s Not A Secret.”

2 Min Read

In an appearance on “The Old Man & The Three” podcast with JJ Redick and Tommy Alter, 27-year-old Bradley Beal discussed the trade rumors being linked to his name, confirming the fact that teams around the league have been in pursuit of his services.

“Teams are trying. A lot of them are calling, a lot of them are inquiring and putting packages together — trying to see if they can get me. That’s not a secret.”

Beal, a 2x All-Star, has yet to make any formal request for a trade. After signing a 2-yr/$72M extension, with a player option for the 2022-23 season, Beal is locked in for at least another two years.

But as a young sharpshooter in his prime, Beal has been one of the hottest commodities in basketball with report indicting interest from the Lakers, Clippers, Bucks, and many other teams who are keen on adding offensive firepower.

We still don’t yet know if the Wizards will trade Beal, or how high they value him, but with rumors looming about his unhappiness, many have started to question whether the young guard has a long-term future with the franchise.

Either way, the noise will not quiet down until Beal signs his next contract or gets sent packing as part of a trade. Until then, the speculation will continue to fly.
