Bill Simmons Ranks Chris Paul 8th On All-Time Point Guard List: “The Truth Is, We Haven’t Found Our Point God Yet.”

Looking back on Chris Paul’s 15-year career, there is no question he deserves to be placed among some of the greatest point guards of All-Time. With 10 All-Star appearances, 9 All-NBA selections, and 2 Olympic Gold Medals, he’s got a resume that most players could only dream of.

Still, Paul’s failure to win a Championship is the great blemish on his legacy and it’s something that makes him stand out in comparison to other All-Time greats like Magic, Thomas, and even Curry.

On his podcast on “The Ringer” well-known NBA analyst Bill Simmons ranked Paul 8th on his All-Time point guards list, explaining that his lack of a title and a true transcendent moment put him behind some of the rest. He was ranked below Magic, Oscar, Cousy, Isiah Thomas, Curry, John Stockton, and Steve Nash.

Paul gets a lot of credit for being one of the best pure point guards of this generation. His basketball IQ, leadership, and playmaking abilities have manifested in a lot of success for his teams. In New Orleans, LA, Houston, and OKC, he was a huge catalyst in their successes and his impact was undeniable.

Unfortunately, he was never able to pull those teams over the hump. And while he technically still has time to change that, it’ll be pretty tough to do at 35-years-old.

Last season, CP3 averaged 17.6 points, 6.7 assists, and 5 rebounds per game on 48.9% shooting.
