Charles Barkley Just Bet $100K That The Trail Blazers Will Make The NBA Finals

1 Min Read

For the past three seasons, Charles Barkley has shown some serious confidence in the Portland Trail Blazers. This time, though, he’s putting his money where his mouth is.

Following the Lakers’ brutal loss on opening night, Chuck announced his $100,000 bet that Portland will win the West and make the NBA Finals this season.

It wasn’t Barkley’s first “guarantee” of the night, but this is certainly the boldest, especially considering how deep the West really is.

Still, he’s not the only one to express some faith in Rip City. Many in the NBA community have noted how impressive Portland’s roster is this season with Robert Covington, Derrick Jones Jr., and Enes Kanter adding much-needed depth.

Of course, and most importantly, Portland will finally be healthy. Jusuf Nurkic and Rodney Hood will be available, and we’ve seen what they can do when they’re 100%.

So, while Chuck’s confidence isn’t as ridiculous as some may think, it might be just a bit premature — especially since we haven’t seen them play a single game yet.

Nevertheless, Barkley is all-in on the Red and Black, and we’ll see eventually how they reward his faith.
