Even though he showed his unhappiness with the upcoming 2021 NBA All-Star Game, LeBron James has turned things around and is now the overall leader in votes, surpassing his long-time friend and rival Kevin Durant. The results just saw the light, with the King seizing the Brooklyn Nets superstar with more than 100K votes.

As of right now, LeBron has received 4,369,553 votes for the big game while KD sits at 4,234,433 votes one month before they go to Atlanta to play for their respective teams. As things stand at this moment, we will see James representing the West and having his team in the game, while KD is set to replace Giannis Antetokounmpo as the representant of the Eastern Conference.

Some interesting details about this second return are that Fred VanVleet made it to the top 10 in the East, stealing the 10th position from Philadelphia 76ers Ben Simmons. In the West, it’s worth noting that Klay Thompson is the 8th most voted player while Alex Caruso is replacing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, making it to the top 10.

Next week, we’ll know the starters for the 2021 All-Star Game. Five days later, on February 23, the NBA All-Star reserves, selected by NBA head coaches, will be revealed. Last season, Team LeBron beat Team Giannis in Chicago in the debut of the new format of the game, which delighted fans around the world.

Although some players have shared their disagreement with the game this season, the NBA is keeping its plans and nothing or nobody can change that.
