Warriors’ Former Player Calls Out LaMelo Ball: “He’s Doing Three Fingers To The Head Like Carmelo Anthony… Come Up With Your Own Celebration, Be Original.”

LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets took on the Golden State Warriors on Friday night after their controversial game last weekend. The Dubs had the last laugh now, beating the Hornets with a 130-121 final score.

The Warriors got their revenge and they didn’t miss their chance to diss rookie sensation LaMelo Ball, at least not one of their commentators. Former player Kelenna Azubuike, now part of the Warriors’ broadcast team wasn’t so happy with Ball celebrating a three-pointer like Carmelo Anthony, calling him out during the broadcast of the game.

“That celebration, he’s doing three fingers to the head like Carmelo Anthony. I know they’re both Melo but come up with your own celebration, be original,” Azubuike said after the young player drained a triple.

"He’s doing three fingers to the head like Carmelo Anthony . . . Come up with your own celebration. Be original."

Azuibuke played for the Warriors from 2007 through 2010, recording his best season in 2008/09, posting 14.4 points per game, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists for the Dubs.

There’s been a lot of talking about Ball and Anthony, who is the rightful owner of the nickname ‘Melo’ and more. It’s clear that one generation doesn’t like to compare LaMelo with Carmelo and want the young player to create his own career without using anything from the Portland Trail Blazers star.

Melo is having a great rookie season and he’s ready to continue his good moment with his team but they couldn’t get past the Dubs who had an inspired Draymond Green on the floor, finishing the game with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 19 assists.
