5 Reasons Why Anthony Davis Should Leave The New Orleans Pelicans

Anthony Davis is by far one of the best young players in the world, a two-way stud that can light up the best defenders in the world while also playing lockdown defense on his side of the backboard.

Ever since entering the league, he’s turned a lot of heads due to his outstanding athleticism and rim protection abilities as well as his ball-handling skills, being able to run the offense and lead the break despite his height and spot.

Nonetheless, he hasn’t been able to find any kind of playoff success, as the former 1st overall pick has spent his entire career as a member of the mediocre New Orleans Pelicans, and he’s never likely to thrive unless he forces his way out of the team.

With Paul George already forcing a move and Kawhi Leonard reportedly keen to do the same, we could definitely expect Davis to be the next in line, and today, we’re going to let you know the top 5 reasons why he should definitely try and force his departure.

5. Big-Market Team

The New Orleans Pelicans are one of the league’s smallest markets, and Anthony Davis doesn’t get the media attention he deserves as one of the league’s stars and the best big man in the NBA.

Davis could brand himself on a big market as California (Oakland or Los Angeles), New York or Boston, and his public persona is pretty much going to waste with the Pelicans, put aside what the team’s able to do on the court.

4. MVP Award

Year in and year out, Anthony Davis posts MVP kind of season but is never even among the top 3 players because of his team’s mediocre record, something that’s unlikely to change, at least for the time being.

In order to win his first MVP, the Unibrow needs to carry a contending team to a high seed in the postseason, or else he will constantly continue to be snubbed by the media and his colleagues in voting.

3. A New Challenge

Let’s face it, Anthony Davis has simply and vastly outgrown the New Orleans Pelicans, and everybody’s getting sick and tired of watching him constantly carrying him throughout the whole season just to fall short as a team in the playoffs.

Davis has proven that he can thrive and become one of the league’s most dominant teams, but with the Pelicans being such a small market, the team’s front office is never going to be able to pair him with a capable support cast.

2. Superteam

If anybody wants to beat the Golden State Warriors, they have to either join them or copy their formula and create a superteam, and Anthony Davis would definitely be the icing on top of the cake for any big 3 in the league if you ask me.

Hell, he could even join the very same Golden State Warriors via trade, sending Draymond Green and Klay Thompson to the Pelicans in order to create the deadliest superteam the league has seen in ages next to Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry.

1. He Is Ready

Anthony Davis is still just 25 years old and is yet to reach his prime and his ceiling. The sky seems to be the limit for the former Kentucky Wildcat after he’s already posted career averages of 23.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.4 blocks per game on 51% shooting.

Davis has improved in almost every single aspect of his game on a yearly basis and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to stop any time soon, so moving away of the Pelicans may be the only way to outgrow LeBron, Curry and Durant as the best players in the world.
