The NBA playoffs are the best time of the year for basketball fans, and that includes celebrities as well. Many well-known actors, musicians, and athletes are often seen courtside at NBA games, and this number only increases when the games get more intense.

So it was no surprise that rapper 50 Cent and legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. were both in attendance to watch Game 2 of the Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors series. The two were spotted at Golden 1 Center, which is wild considering that they have a long-running feud.

Sports is a space where everyone comes together, regardless of their affiliations or their issues outside of it. It distracts from the many troubles that exist in people’s lives. That’s not to say that 50 and Floyd came to the arena to resolve the feud that exists between them, they were very much sitting separately. However, even the fact that they were in the same building says a lot.

50 Cent’s various rivalries have hilariously tangled with the NBA once before this season already. He trolled rapper Ja Rule by suggesting that his half-time performance during a Minnesota Timberwolves game cursed the team. And Ja Rule even hit back at him after, it’s been a funny little sidenote to the basketball season.

What Exactly Is The Issue Between 50 Cent And Floyd Mayweather Jr.?

The rapper and the boxer were once good friends and appeared together at a lot of events. Things turned sour between them eventually, though, and 50 Cent made the feud public when he began mocking Floyd Mayweather Jr. for supposedly being unable to read. Bleacher Report summed up their initial back-and-forth

“The rapper issued a challenge to Mayweather via Instagram, saying that if the boxer could read an entire page from a Harry Potter book out loud without error, 50 Cent would donate $750,000 to a charity of Mayweather’s choosing.

“The rapper continued mocking Mayweather via Instagram with a second video a few days later. This time, he said talk show host Jimmy Kimmel had agreed to broadcast Mayweather’s reading and that it would be something easier to read than a Harry Potter book.

“Mayweather responded via Twitter by showing two checks from Golden Boy Promotions totaling over $72 million.”

All of this seems quite unnecessary in the grand scheme of things, but that’s how it is with feuds between famous people. Whatever the issues between 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. may have been in the past, they both chose a banger of a game to attend, the Kings vs. Warriors series has been really exciting already.
