Scottie Pippen Takes A Jab At The 2015-16 Golden State Warriors: “You Can’t Win 73 Games And Lose The Championship. You Can’t Be Considered The Greatest Team.”

Scottie Pippen is still very much in the media, with several takes about different topics springing up after every interview. It has been an emotional rollercoaster keeping up with Scottie as he has made a lot of controversial statements through his book.

The Hall of Famer recently released his memoir Unguarded, which essentially gives an insight into his relationship with Michael Jordan. But Pippen is not in the news because of Michael this time, and it is also not because he has heaped praise on someone else.

Pippen has shifted his attention and is coming for the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors team, stating that they cannot be considered the best team in NBA history despite their 73-9 record. While the Warriors have a better regular-season record than the 72-10 1995-96 Bulls, failure to win the championship makes the 72-10 bulls the better team, according to Pippen.

Speaking to GQ Sports, he said:

“Well, the argument is the greatest team in the regular season. It was the Chicago Bulls. Now, that’s a challenge for them now because they’re still playing. But you can’t win 73 games and lose. You can’t be considered the greatest team. You didn’t win a championship.”

He continued:

“It’s the team before you that did. They’re better than that team because they won a championship.”

Basketball players love to brag, so, understandably, Pippen will put his team ahead of any others. Nonetheless, there is no denying the fact that the Warriors had an outstanding 2015-16 season that was marred by a collapse in the Finals.

Credit to LeBron James and Kyrie Irving for pulling off that comeback despite being 3-1 down. As the Cavs ruined the Warriors’ chance to prove without any doubt that they were the best team, it also turned into a record-setting campaign for them. No other team has overturned a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals in league history.
