Stats Prove That Nikola Jokic Is Arguably The Best Player In The NBA: “He’s Having An Even Better Season Than Last Year”

Nikola Jokic is the reigning MVP of the league and rightly so. He was incredible last season and became the first center to win regular-season MVP since Shaquille O’Neal. Despite his efforts, the Denver Nuggets failed to make the NBA Finals.

Following up on his last season’s brilliance, the Nuggets are off to a flying start in the 2021-22 NBA season as well. Currently, the Nuggets have a record of 9-4 and hold the third seed in the Western Conference.

While the entire team is playing well, the key player who is making everything possible is none other than Nikola Jokic. In fact, many believe that the 3x All-Star might be having an even better season than his MVP-earning season.

A fan on Reddit dug up many advanced stats about Jokic, all of which point to one thing: Jokic is arguably the best player in the NBA. Reddit user u/VicWembanyama posted on Reddit with the headline, “Nikola Jokic is having an even better season this year than last year and deserves serious consideration as the best player in the NBA.”

As you can see in the post-above, Jokic is truly having yet another historical season. Although The Joker was recently in the headlines for his beef against Markieff Morris, we cannot forget he is still a phenomenal player.

He once again proved it yesterday in the matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. Jokic finished the game with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists while shooting 11-17 from the field. He missed his well-deserved triple-double by a single rebound and assist.

Getting another triple-double will mean that Jokic will pass Larry Bird on the all-time triple-double leaders’ list. Considering how well the 26-year-old is playing, it is only a matter of time before he passes Bird to have another record on his resume.

With the new season in full flow, the Nuggets are looking in elite form despite not being at full strength. When Jamal Murray returns to the roster, it will be exciting to see him once again paired up with Nikola Jokic. Can Jokic lead the organization to an NBA title? We will have to wait for the season to wrap up to find out.
