Lonzo Ball was highly touted coming into the league as a passer a shooter. He showcased his passing brilliance with the Los Angeles Lakers but had to change his shot form in order to be able to shoot well at the NBA level.
As of now, Lonzo Ball is shooting 41.6% from beyond the arc on 6.9 attempts a game, and it’s clear he is now a reliable shooter. After the Clippers’ game against the Chicago Bulls, Paul George shouted out Lonzo Ball by stating that he “makes the game easy for everybody out there” and revealed that Lonzo’s best improvement came in “him being able to shoot the ball”.
“He just makes the game easy for everybody out there. I think where he made the best jump is him being able to shoot the ball. Before, you could kinda help off him, but he's shooting the ball well, plays defense, rebounds, kicks the ball ahead.”

He just makes the game easy for everybody out there. I think where he made the best jump is him being able to shoot the ball. Before, you could kinda help off him, but he’s shooting the ball well, but his strengths… he plays defense, rebounds, kicks the ball ahead.
This isn’t the first time Paul George has praised Lonzo Ball’s abilities, as he claimed that Lonzo Ball had the potential to be a star player in the future. While Ball isn’t considered a star yet, he is still young and could potentially get on that level later on in his career.
There is no doubt that Lonzo Ball’s strides as a shooter allowed him to have more value playing off the ball, as well as making him a bigger offensive threat to opposing defenses.
Lonzo Ball’s level of shooting development level is rare: it is not often that we see players go into an offseason and simply be able to drastically improve their shooting. We’ll see if Lonzo Ball can diversify his scoring game further in the future, but improving his shooting was a big step towards that.
