The Los Angeles Lakers have had an inconsistent start to the season thus far, having a 6-5 record prior to their game against the Miami Heat. While other contending teams have started slowly as well such as the Milwaukee Bucks, there has been some worry about the Lakers’ team chemistry and defense.

A role player that was a large part of the Lakers’ success during the 2019-20 season was Alex Caruso, who is now on the Chicago Bulls. There is no doubt that the Lakers have been missing a perimeter stopper this season. Alex Caruso is a player that could take on the best opposing player every night, and he has a solid complementary offensive game.

NBC Sports’ Chicago Bulls account has recently roasted the Los Angeles Lakers, calling them “dumb as hell” for letting Caruso go. while posting an Alex Caruso highlight, where the guard got a steal and finished an and-1 on the other end. The Lakers notably low-balled Alex Caruso during contract negotiations, leading him to pick the Bulls in free agency.

There’s no doubt that Alex Caruso has been excelling in his role for the Chicago Bulls. Many have stated that he is an All-Defensive team caliber defender, and his play this year would support that argument. Hopefully, we see him continue his stellar play, and Alex Caruso has certainly justified the faith that the Bulls’ front office had put in him.

The Chicago Bulls have looked like a very dangerous team to start the season, and they have a lot of talent both offensively and defensively. Alex Caruso has given the team a stalwart defender as well as bringing championship experience to the squad. He is arguably one of the best acquisitions of the offseason as far as role players go. Perhaps Alex Caruso and the Chicago Bulls will have the Los Angeles Lakers regretting their decision to let Caruso go even more in the future.
