The Atlanta Hawks faced the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night in a duel between the two biggest surprises of the 2021 NBA playoff. Trae Young went up against Chris Paul and Devin Booker, failing to get the win against last season’s NBA finalists.

Young had a good night, dropping 31 points and dishing 13 assists, but the Hawks couldn’t get the win. Moreover, he was involved in a curious moment when a referee seemingly made fun of him.

One official was caught on camera, explaining his call when he did what looked like the ‘cry baby’ motion. This sparked a lot of speculation around the community and even Young reacted to it.

The All-Star point guard took to social media to ask why he was getting fined for his antics on the court, while this referee mocked him.

” … Hmm Interesting.

I get fined though #WhyIsItPersonal,” the 23-year-old tweeted.

Trae is trying to lead the Atlanta Hawks to the playoffs again. Last season, they fell short against the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals after surprising the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers in prior rounds.

Young became the villain of the playoff thanks to his performances and antics. This season hasn’t started the best way for him, but the player is trying to bounce back and take this team to the top of the standings.

The Suns beat the Hawks 121-117, giving them the sixth loss of the season. Now Atlanta ranks 12th in the East, hoping to find their best form soon.

Nobody knows if the referee was actually mocking the Hawks, but their moves didn’t please Young and co.
