Chris Paul had one of his best seasons in the NBA last year. After a difficult few years, and a heartbreaking Western Conference Finals loss in 2018 to the Golden State Warriors, Paul joined the Suns and transformed them into a sleeper contender in the Western Conference.

Paul was able to get the best out of the Suns’ young squad, with players like Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton getting even better during the regular season. But it was truly the playoffs where the Suns reached their zenith.

Paul and the Suns upset the Los Angeles Lakers, got past the Denver Nuggets, and beat the LA Clippers to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1993.

The Suns were even able to get the first 2 games over the Milwaukee Bucks but went on to lose their next 4 and lose the NBA championship to the Bucks.

The greatest point guard in NBA history has a lot of respect for him. Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson linked up with Chris Paul and his Suns teammate Mikal Bridges at the LA Rams – Tampa Bay Buccaneers game last night. Johnson called CP3 the best floor general in the NBA today when posting their picture on Twitter.

“Hanging out with the best floor general in the NBA today, NBA All Star, and future Hall of Famer Chris Paul and his Suns teammate Mikal Bridges!”

Paul has oft been regarded as one of the best point guards in the league. Unlike most players in that position today, CP3 is an orthodox point guard that focuses more on playmaking rather than his own scoring. While Paul can be a scorer, he is more adept at being a facilitator for his teammates.

On top of that, he is one of the best squad players in the league and a great leader. Paul is a vocal leader on the court, often handing out instructions to his teammates to make sure that they can get the best out of each and every possession.

So it comes as no surprise that the Suns offered him a massive contract extension and want to run it back with Paul next year.
