NBA players are generally fairly recognizable people, especially by fans in their local markets. It’s certainly easy to recognize athletes who tower over regular people, particularly after seeing them on television consistently.

It was certainly hilarious to see that reporter Hayley Crombleholme who was covering the Utah Jazz, didn’t recognize Jordan Clarkson, who won the Sixth Man of the Year award with the team. The video even shows that she had Clarkson spell out his name, though it seems as though she did realize who she was interviewing later on.

Welp, pretty sure @rlikness and I just interviewed @JordanClarksons off the street without realizing it was Jordan Clarkson 🤦‍♀️ I have some follow-up questions…

Had him spell his name and everything 🤦‍♀️. I’m only mildly (okay highly) embarrassed pic.twitter.com/mWFO6eXOjp

It’s true that as a sports reporter covering that Jazz, one would expect Crombleholme to recognize a prominent member of the team. However, everyone makes mistakes, and she did end up admitting that she was “highly embarrassed” about the situation. There’s no doubt that everything ended out alright though, and Jordan Clarkson himself commented on the situation, jokingly responding “Let’s Go Jazz!” in response to Crombleholme’s gaffe.

The Utah Jazz ended up losing to the Los Angeles Clippers in the second round this season, and they’ll certainly hope to bounce back from their defeat. They were the No. 1 seed this season, and many thought that this was the year that they would manage to make it further than the second round. However, just because they didn’t end up getting to the Conference Finals/Finals this season, doesn’t mean that won’t happen in the future. Former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo once called them the best team in the West.

Jordan Clarkson will be key for the Utah Jazz no matter what, as his scoring punch off the bench has come in big for the team a lot of times. It remains to be seen whether they can have more success in the playoffs next season, but they’ll certainly be a great regular season team.
