Russell Westbrook is a great player, there are no two ways to look at it. He is a former NBA MVP and is a triple-double machine. Since leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder, Russ’ contributions have been going under the radar for most.

Even NBA 2K22 may have overlooked Westbrook’s performances last season. Sure, the Wizards failed to go deep in the 2021 playoffs, but Brodie averaged a triple-double in the regular season.

Despite that, he has a rating of 86 in the game. It is not bad, but the game has given Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson a rating of 87. Klay has been sidelined due to injuries for two consecutive seasons.

NBA reporter Ben Stinar pointed this out and called out NBA 2K on Twitter for it.

“Russell Westbrook has a 2k22 rating of 86 overall. He averaged a TRIPLE DOUBLE last season. Klay Thompson has a 2k22 ratings of 87 overall. I love Thompson, but he hasn’t played in 2 years!??”

A few years ago, averaging a triple-double for an entire seemed like a behemoth task. Not for Russ, he has achieved this feat in four out of the last five seasons. The only thing that Westbrook is missing from his resume is an NBA championship.

Maybe when he wins a title, he will start getting the respect he deserves. Currently, Brodie is in the perfect situation to do as he is currently with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers have an excellent team and are one of the favorites to win it all this season.

As for Klay, he is one of the best shooters of this generation, possibly only second to his teammate Stephen Curry. He will be making a return this season around Christmas.

If he can pick it up right from where he left it two years ago, Klay’s rating will be justified. However, it is quite surprising to see him being rated more than Westbrook.

At the end of the day, both of them are featured in the Top 100 players in NBA 2K22, and rightfully so.

Do you agree with Ben Stinar or not?
