Anthony Edwards Told Timberwolves Coach “Don’t Let Me Get To 6’6 Or I’ll Be Michael Jordan”

Anthony Edwards proved why he was a strong first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. While LaMelo Ball got most of the plaudits from the 2020 draft class, Edwards was not far behind, putting up some solid numbers through last season.

Despite being on the Timberwolves, one of the poorest performing teams last season, Edwards showed that he is a future superstar in the making. His season gave Timberwolves fans a lot of hope for their future.

Playing at the shooting guard position, Edwards brings incredible athleticism to the court every time he plays the game. Edwards’ ability to shoot the ball, pass it, and take it to the hole makes him one of the most exciting prospects in the NBA today.

With Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell, the Timberwolves could be an offensive juggernaut if Edwards takes a massive leap in his game next season.

And given how young Edwards is, he has plenty of time to come good on his potential in the NBA. But he is a player to watch out for.

Edwards’ youth only serves as an advantage to his growth as a player. And at his age, his body will continue to grow and adapt as the years come. Taking notice of that, Edwards made a bold claim to his coach.

Minnesota coach Chris Finch said that Anthony Edwards grew 2 inches since the end of the last season. In fact, Edwards even told his coach “don’t let me get to 6’6 or I’ll be Michael Jordan”.

Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said Anthony Edwards has grown about 2 inches since the Wolves drafted him;

“He told me don't let me get to 6-6 or I'll be Michael Jordan."

‘Ant’ has shown the NBA that he can play at a high level on a consistent basis, and shown with his performances that he isn’t afraid to take the game to the opposition. It is this fearlessness that makes Edwards such a valuable commodity.
