Bryce James shone for Sierra Canyon in their 60-46 win over Grayson of Georgia at the Hoophall Classic on Saturday and his father LeBron James couldn’t be more proud. LeBron first took to X to praise Bryce for his display as he let the world know that his son was in the midst of a dazzling performance.

“Bryce James going crazy in the Hoophall Classic right now! Flamethrower.”

Not long after, LeBron put out another post to express just how proud he was of Bryce.

“So proud of you Maximus!!! I literally just shed a tear! Proud Pops!!”

Bryce finished with a career-high 16 points (6-10 FG) to go with five rebounds and four steals in just 17 minutes against Grayson and was named MVP.

You can check out some highlights below.

The sold-out crowd at Blake Arena in Springfield, Massachusetts cheered whenever Bryce had the ball and he overcame a slow start to put on a show for them. This was probably the best game of the 17-year-old’s career and to do it on this stage against quality opposition is quite impressive.

LeBron James Shared His Thoughts On Bryce James Committing To Arizona

Bryce, a senior at Sierra Canyon, committed to Arizona on Jan. 1. He had an offer from Ohio State as well but decided against going there. During an appearance on GoJo and Golic, LeBron shared his thoughts on Bryce committing to Arizona.

“It’s always difficult and challenging because everyone believes that if I have kids, they’re automatically going to Ohio State.”

“Those guys down there (Arizona) recruited Bryce really hard. They believed in Bryce, in his maturation process, and where he was going as a basketball player and a young man. We’re excited for his next chapter when he gets down there. Hopefully, I don’t have to buy the gear. I have a lot of friends that are UofA alum and hopefully, they can give me some of their stuff.”

The 6’4 Bryce is a three-star recruit and it will be interesting to see how he fares at Arizona and how long he decides to stay there. Will he be there for a couple of years or be a one-and-done like his brother Bronny James was at USC?

If Bryce stays at Arizona for just one year, then you wonder what LeBron will do. In this scenario, his youngest son would be entering the 2026 NBA Draft and you’d think he surely would stick around till then to play with him and Bronny.

LeBron is averaging 23.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2024-25. While the end of his career isn’t too far away, there is gas left in the tank and he should be able to carry on for another two seasons if he wanted to.

LeBron will be in action next against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome on Sunday at 9 PM ET. The 40-year-old has put in some incredible performances against the Clippers in recent years and you wouldn’t bet against him delivering another one.
