The Los Angeles Lakers made a controversial move when they traded for Russell Westbrook. Not because Westbrook isn’t one of the best players in the league but because the fit next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis was questionable.
Westbrook is a ball-dominant player and a non-shooter, two things that may not be the formula for success next to those aforementioned players.
That’s why Skip Bayless once again found the way to blame LeBron James and call him out for, well, everything; criticizing him for “choosing” Russell Westbrook over Buddy Hield:
“It is a no-brainer, as in ‘LeBron, you have no brains if you’re going to choose Russell Westbrook, a disaster waiting to happen, the all-time ball hog, a guy who 4 times has led the league in usage rate and 4 other times he was second in usage rate because he wants the basketball in his hands. You’re choosing him to be your primary decision-maker at point guard when clearly, you – LeBron – were born to play the position of point guard (…) and now you’re saying he’s willing to play off the ball as he pursues the all-time scoring record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar because that’s more of his primary goal – it feels to me – right now than actually winning a fifth championship,” Bayless said on Undisputed.

It would be naive to think that James didn’t have a say in the Westbrook trade. But C’mon, skip. On what planet you’re taking Buddy Hield over a former MVP, Scoring Champion, assists leader, and all-time leader in triple-doubles?
No disrespect to Buddy Hield whatsoever, he’s one of the best shooters in the league and perhaps a better fit than Westbrook. But when you have the chance to get one of the best players in the NBA, you just do it.
It’s hilarious how Skip will always call out LeBron even when he’s not in the picture. I wonder what’s he going to talk about when James retires.
