It has been some time since we’ve seen or heard from LaVar Ball.
At one point, he was among the most polarizing figures in the NBA, thanks to the rather outlandish and ridiculous remarks he used to make to the media.
Since his eldest son, Lonzo, was traded from Los Angeles, he has largely shied away from the spotlight and out of the public eye.
But now that both of his other sons (LaMelo and LiAngelo) are beginning to make a name for themselves in the basketball world, it seems LaVar is making a bit of a comeback.
During LiAngelo’s summer league game, in which he went 5-of-10 from the field, LaVar was just casually chilling on the sidelines, wearing a cap that pretty much expressed all his feelings at the time.

Indeed, LaVar has to be given some credit here.
When Lonzo first joined the league as a Laker in 2017, LaVar wasn’t just hyping him up. He was putting his entire family in the spotlight, making efforts to get the name of his other sons out into the air as well.
As ‘Zo was struggling to break out as a star in L.A., LiAngelo was getting into trouble. Before playing a single game for UCLA, he got caught shoplifting overseas, and his tenure with the Bruins was abruptly ended.
As for LaMelo, he elected not to try college at all. Pretty soon, both he and Gelo would try their luck in Lithuania.
Eventually, LaMelo would get drafted to Charlotte and win Rookie of the Year. At that point, LaVar had two of his boys playing at the highest level.
And while it would take some time for LiAngelo to get his shot, he seems to be making the most of it and is closer than ever to making the leap to a permanent role in the NBA.
So, with all three of his sons lighting up the biggest stage in basketball, LaVar is taking the time to gloat — as he’s earned the right to do.
At this point, one has to wonder what might be in the future for this family, and what LaVar might say if the Ball bros keep trending their way upward.
We’ll just have to wait and find out for ourselves.
