PJ Tucker can finally call himself an NBA champion after helping the Milwaukee Bucks reach the promised land on Tuesday night. The big man did his part throughout the 2021 NBA playoff, showing his importance for the team night in and night out.

After the Bucks finally completed their NBA title quest, Tucker became a champion, going through big obstacles to accomplish this feat. One of the most curious facts of this championship run is that PJ faced a former Houston Rockets starting teammate on his way to the title.

He went against Trevor Ariza’s Miami Heat in the first round, sweeping the 2020 NBA finalists. After that, the Bucks battled the Brooklyn Nets of James Harden. The shooting guard suffered an injury and couldn’t play at the best level, leaving his team helpless.

In the Eastern Conference Finals, Clint Capela and the Atlanta Hawks waited for the Bucks, winning two games before Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday took over. Finally, Tucker faced Chris Paul in the NBA Finals, beating the point guard in six games to become an NBA champion for the first time.

This was the perfect closure for this journey. Tucker was traded to Milwaukee in the middle of the season, ready to help a team hungry to win. He proved to be a valuable piece for the Bucks, helping them go through rounds until this moment. Finally, they are NBA champions after a magical season.
