Chris Paul is, without any kind of doubt, one of the best five point guards in NBA history. For some, the only thing standing in his way from having a perfect résumé is an NBA Championship.

For the first time in his career, Paul has a chance to get that done. But he’s struggled mightily over the past couple of games and the narratives around him are starting to change a bit.

That’s why Yahoo! Sports Chris Haynes says that the pressure is at an all-time high for Paul right now and that the Suns need to get the job done:

“It’s going to be tough. We’ve seen Chris Paul play at a higher level, fizzle out towards the end. His best run before this point was in Houston, we got to the conference finals. He was a hamstring away from advancing, ” Haynes said on The Dan Patrick Show, as quoted by Essentially Sports.

“This (Suns not winning the 2021 finals) would amplify all the talk that people saying that Chris Paul can’t get it done in clutch times and clutch moments. Got still lot of time left for him to rectify that, but it’s going to be a bad look if the Suns aren’t able to get this done.”

Winning the NBA Finals will be easier said than done. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a superstar and the Milwaukee Bucks just won’t go away without putting up a big fight.

The Suns have home-court advantage and have been one of the best teams in the league in their arena, and Paul has been much better at home than on the road in this series.

Even if he loses, Paul will still be a first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best players to ever lace them up, but this could be the most heartbreaking end of the season in his career.
