The Phoenix Suns now have a 2-0 lead over the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Finals.
Both games have gone back-and-forth and have gone down to the wire. In fact, Game 2 gave us one of the wildest endings we can remember in any recent playoff game.
Paul George had the chance to ice the game with a couple of clutch free-throws but he missed both. Then, coach Monty Williams drew up a nice play to set up Mikal Bridges for a 3, but he missed. Gladly for them, the Suns somehow still got the rebound.
That’s when Monty drew up a risky play as the Suns only had 0.9 seconds left to get a shot up. Devin Booker set up a nice block and Jae Crowder found a trailing Deandre Ayton for a huge game-winning dunk.

While that play may have seemed creative, it’s actually the very same the Suns ran back in 2017 to beat the Memphis Grizzlies, with Tyson Chandler dunking all over Jonas Valanciunas.

That’s why the former Dallas Mavericks standout took to Twitter to remind everybody that that play looked very familiar.

Thanks to that play and Ayton’s athleticism, the Suns now take a 2-0 lead back to the STAPLES Center and without Chris Paul. The All-time great point guard is expected to be available at some point in the series but there isn’t a clear picture as of yet.
Then again, the Suns should be wary of being overconfident, as Tyronn Lue has proven to be a master at making adjustments and the Los Angeles Clippers have overcome a 0-2 deficit twice in this playoffs already.
