Bleacher Report

The Los Angeles Clippers are still feeling the impact of last season’s brutal Western Semi-Finals defeat. After blowing a 3-1 lead, and losing to Denver in the second round, the Clips became the laughing stock of the community, and their reputation has yet to recover.

While they’re still considered a threat to win the West this year, there are questions as to whether history may repeat itself with this team.

But in a chat with Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, Clippers swingman Paul George assured the masses that this season is different…

“Well I think this year it’s been easier because I have outlets,” George said, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. “You know, I’m able to live a normal life. I can go home, I can see my family, I can spend time with my family, I can interact with other people outside of this team. And so that alone has just been a big difference to be back to some normalcy.

It’s a big difference from the bubble life to where I’m at now from a headspace standpoint.”

There is no question that last year’s bubble playoffs took a toll on everyone. Players were away from their families for weeks, having to deal with the constant threat of COVID-19 all while being essentially trapped in the city.

It’s understandable that PG would be affected by that reality.

Still, if he doesn’t answer the call this year, it won’t do much to bolster his reputation.
