It is strange that Kevin Porter Jr. was acquired by the Houston Rockets from the Cleveland Cavaliers for just a second-round pick. So far, it seems as though the Rockets have clearly won the trade, as Kevin Porter Jr. has been putting on a show in Houston with his amazing performances.

Recently, Kevin Porter Jr. scored 50 points with 11 assists in a win against the Milwaukee Bucks. He was being guarded by one of the best defenders in the league in Jrue Holiday, but it seems as though Porter Jr. wasn’t about to be stopped. After the game, Kevin Porter Jr. was overheard on Kenyon Martin Jr.’s Instagram live talking about how he slid Jrue Holiday “all around the f***ing court”.

Trash talking is a common thing in sports, and the fact that Kevin Porter Jr. was able to score 50 against one of the best perimeter defenders in the league speaks volumes of his ability. That is an achievement where you can trash talk a little bit, as scoring on Jrue Holiday isn’t exactly easy. Kevin Porter Jr. still has a lot to learn, but on this specific night, he was the best player on the court.

Kevin Porter Jr. was an underrated prospect before, but moving the Rockets has allowed him to show the world what he could truly do. Hopefully, Kevin Porter Jr. can continue developing in Houston, as he is being given plenty of touches to help him learn. What is undeniable is that Kevin Porter Jr. is a unique talent and seeing him and Christian Wood next season will be exciting, to say the least.
