Kevin Durant And Mike Conley Won An Oscar Award For ‘Two Distant Strangers’ Movie

Kevin Durant and Mike Conley keep adding accolades to their careers, showing they aren’t talented on the court but off it, too. The two players teamed up to produce a movie that was just awarded an Oscar trophy. They aren’t only All-Stars and big figures in the NBA but also award-winning executive producers.

They are having very good NBA seasons this year, balling out with their respective teams, which are two favorite teams to win their conferences this season. KD and the Nets have been incredible, even without him on the court due to a series of injuries. As for Conley, he became an All-Star for the first time in his career this campaign with the best team in the league, the Utah Jazz.

Via USA Today:

The Brooklyn Nets forward and Utah Jazz guard served as executive producers for “Two Distant Strangers,” which won the Academy Award on Sunday night for best live-action short.

The film written by Travon Free, who also co-directed with Martin Desmond Roe, tells the story of a Black man, played by rapper and actor Joey Bada$$, who gets stuck in a time loop re-living a deadly run-in with a police officer. “Two Distant Strangers” is currently available to stream on Netflix.

Durant and Conley were among the numerous executive producers who worked on the film with producer Lawrence Bender, who has three previous Oscar nominations for best picture: “Pulp Fiction” in 1995, “Good Will Hunting” in 1998 and “Inglourious Basterds” in 2010.

In a year that has been KD dealing with injuries and Conley living a hard time during a Utah Jazz’s flight to Memphis a couple of weeks ago. Life has been good for them despite all the bad things and this is a huge accomplishment for them.

Just like Kobe Bryant did in the past, these two ballers have tried their luck on the big screen and now are winners, too.

This is just something to feel very proud about it and KD and Conley must be feeling very happy with this recognition. Shooters shoot and winners win; this is the prime sample of that.
