The Brooklyn Nets are clearly the NBA’s most talented team, with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden. Of course, their talent also makes them the league’s most hated team, and it’s clear that much of the community is actively rooting for them to lose.
On TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” Charles Barkley admitted that he was one of those rooting for Brooklyn’s downfall, citing that he wasn’t a fan of “how they put that team together.”

No doubt, the greediness by the Nets to compile talent leaves a sour taste in the mouths of many. It also doesn’t help when you think about the history of guys like Durant, Kyrie, and (most recently) Harden, who ditched their teams to pursue an easier path to a title.
The Nets are the villains of the league right now, and it’s hard to see that changing anytime soon. Barkley’s words are just the latest example of that fact.
As for what we can expect going forward, the Nets are a team to fear, and it’s unlikely they care too much about the public’s perception of them anyway.
