Andre Drummond: “LeBron Came To Me One Day And Said ‘You, Is Your Nickname Big Penguin?’ I Said ‘Man, I Don’t Know Where That Came From. All I Know Someone Must Have Found Out That Penguins Are One Of My Favorite Animals.'”

Penguins are Andre Drummond’s favorite animals and he can’t run away from that. Somehow, people found out this little detail about the Los Angeles Lakers star and used him against. Recently, Drummond revealed that things got out of control and even LeBron James asked him about this, specifically inquiring if his nickname was ‘Big Penguin’.

“Listen, man, I don’t know where that came from. Bron came up to me one day and said ‘yo, is your nickname Big Penguin?’ I said ‘man, I don’t know where that came from or how it started, or who came up with the name. All I know is that someone must have found out that penguins are one of my favorite animals, and kind of put and two together.”

When asked if he digs the nickname, the former Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers player said that for kids is good, but he needs to bring something more aggressive.

Do you like the nickname? Are you happy with it?

“I think I need a more aggressive nickname than Big Penguin (laughs). But the kids can call me that.”

Drummond is having a very good time with the Los Angeles Lakers, although things haven’t gone as desired for them. Drummond landed in L.A. to help this team compete for important things alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. That is a very curious nickname but nobody will be intimidated by that. He better starts thinking about a new nickname before it’s too late. Or… It probably is.
