When Lonzo Ball came into the league, there were narratives about how his shooting wouldn’t translate to the NBA due to his unorthodox shot form. However, during his time with New Orleans Pelicans, Lonzo Ball has improved his shooting ability, and it has shown in his improved ability behind the arc.

Lonzo Ball shot 37.5% from the 3PT range last season and even managed to increase it to 39.2% during the 2020-21 season. It is time to put the narrative about Lonzo Ball’s shooting to rest. Recently, Hoop Central posted a Tweet that showed that Lonzo Ball has exceeded some of the league’s best shooter in 3PT attempts made this season.

Lonzo Ball has 122 3PM this season. That’s more than;

– Trae Young
– James Harden
– Paul George
– Brandon Ingram
– Kyle Lowry
– Devin Booker
– Bradley Beal
– Khris Middleton

Lonzo Ball has more makes than some of the other shooters in the league and has shown that his improved shooting isn’t simply a fluke. Lonzo Ball is an extremely valuable player for the New Orleans Pelicans, and his floor spacing is crucial next to a star like Zion Williamson. Lonzo Ball’s shooting seems like it will continue to improve, and the time has become to anoint him as a good shooter in the NBA.

Lonzo Ball wasn’t traded at the deadline and he will be crucial for the Pelicans’ push to the play-in tournament. A team with Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Zion Williamson could potentially be a deadly matchup for anyone, as long as they play up to their full potential. If Lonzo Ball keeps shooting like this, then they could improve very rapidly, and potentially make the playoffs this season.
