Kendrick Perkins On New York Knicks Trading For Derrick Rose: “Derrick Rose Deserves To Be On A Damn Contender At This Point Of His Career… I Understand The Knicks Are Finally Moving In The Right Direction But Damn.”

Derrick Rose has recently been traded to the New York Knicks, reuniting him with former coach Tom Thibodeau. Thibodeau knows how good Rose can truly be. Rose could be a solid contributor as a consistent scorer for the Knicks, whether it is as a starter or off the bench. He still has a lot left to give, and he could help the Knicks in their hunt for the playoffs.

While the Knicks are a solid team with a good chance of making the playoffs, lots of fans wanted to see Derrick Rose be traded to a contender so that he may win a ring. One of those people was Kendrick Perkins, who said that Rose deserved to be on a contending team.

Perkins recognizes that the New York Knicks are moving in the right direction: they have had some young talent step up, such as Julius Randle. The Knicks are good, but they’re not quite on the level of the Los Angeles Lakers or the Los Angeles Clippers. It would be nice to see Derrick Rose win a ring; but at the same time, it will be nice to see how Rose can help this young New York team improve.

Derrick Rose has played for the New York Knicks before. But that was during a different era, a different time. Hopefully the second time in New York, Derrick Rose can make a big impact on the team, and be a consistent veteran presence for the team’s young players.
