LeBron James Reveals How He Has Evolved With The Game: “For Me, Never Putting A Cap On My Ceiling…”

For over 17 years, LeBron James has been dominating the NBA at an amazing level. With expertise in all areas of the game and an impeccable resume to go with it, James is easily one of the best basketball players the world has ever seen.

Of course, one of the most impressive aspects of his game has been the way he has been able to adapt and evolve to changing times. At 36-years-old, James has found new ways to maximize his skillset, and it’s all just a part of what he does.

“You have to change with the times, I guess,” he said. “You have to continue to evolve. I mean, when I came to the league, it was literally a big man’s league pretty much.

I don’t mean that it’s not a big man’s league now. I mean like four’s and five’s pretty much played in the paint. You had big guys and there was a lot of posting up, things of that nature. It was a big body, big man game. So if the league evolves, you have to be able to evolve with it to keep up with the time.

For me, never putting a cap on my ceiling. I just want to always continue to get better and do things out on the floor that maybe hasn’t been done in other people’s careers.”

The NBA has changed a lot since Bron was drafted in 2003 — and so has he. The biggest evaluation of “the King” has been the implementation of the three-pointer, an attribute James was not known for being great at early in his career. But, since joining the Lakers in 2018, he is averaging a career-high 6.2 attempts from downtown and making about 35% of them.

When it comes to longevity, nobody in league history has done what he is doing. For almost two decades, LeBron has remained firmly atop the league, even amid lockouts, a three-point boom, Father Time, and a global pandemic.

Whatever the challenge, the 4x Champion always overcomes.

At this point, there really is no telling how long he can keep this going. The way he is able to bend and mold his game as both basketball and his body increase in age is truly unprecedented.
