James Harden has finally broken his media silence after refusing to talk to reporters after the Houston Rockets’ Tuesday night game against the San Antonio Spurs. The 8-time All-Star has come under scrutiny for arriving late to the Rockets preseason after supposed social engagements in Las Vegas and Atlanta.

The claim comes after reports via social media of Harden in Atlanta, attending rapper Lil Baby’s birthday party maskless, violating NBA COVID-19 protocols. Harden also was spotted in a strip club in Las Vegas instead of reporting to training camp. Steven Silas, head coach of the Rockets thought Harden would join the Rockets in workouts Sunday, December 5th, Harden finally joined the Rockets after missing 2 games Houston had against the Chicago Bulls.

While it is very apparent Harden was not only training, this claim comes in the wake of tension between the Rockets’ front office and the shooting guard. Earlier this year, both Harden and now-former teammate Russell Westbrook requested to be traded from the organization.

Despite the addition of John Wall from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Westbrook, Harden remains determined to force a trade. This press conference is just one chapter in efforts.
