LaVar Ball Makes A Bold Claim: “LaMelo Coming Into The League More Popular Than Jordan.”

LaVar Ball isn’t stopping making bold claims now that he managed to put his three sons in the NBA. Last month, LaMelo was selected as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets. That was a huge deal for Ball and his son, who entered the league to play for none other than the GOAT, Michael Jordan.

The Ball family patriarch took some shots at Jordan in the past and he’s not changing anything now that Melo is one of Jordan’s employers. He took things to the next level recently, claiming that his youngest son is entering the league more famous than Michael Jordan (6:00 mark).

He praised LaMelo and explained he was a good fit for the Hornets.

“He fits into the scheme perfectly. Why? You’re under the two men who are the greatest of all time besides me. So if you don’t come to me, you got to go to Jordan and what better person to learn from? I’m not even saying to learn from. Jordan has been through those situations, so he know what my son is about.”

Later on, he made the biggest claims of all, comparing Jordan’s popularity to LaMelo’s when they both entered the league.

“He [LaMelo] coming into the league more popular than Jordan. Why? Oh people say why are you saying that, boy no he didn’t. Well, if Jordan was more popular than my son, he would be in Portland right now, but now, with social media, my son’s going to be more popular. The social media era, that’s what people don’t get, this ain’t the same era. So now, Jordan know what this thing is about the ride my son is about to be on.”

Well, you know LaVar is not going to change and he will do anything to get attention to his sons. Melo is one of the best prospects of his class and the Hornets know that. He’s also a player with huge popularity and the team also took that into consideration at the time of drafting him.

Now, it’s hard to compare Jordan’s rookie season to Melo’s. Back in 1984, you didn’t have social media. Still, Jordan was a pretty good deal at that time after doing impressive teams with North Carolina.

Ball has that advantage over the Chicago Bulls legend but this might be his dad just messing with people again to bring attention to his son.
