Kawhi Leonard’s Savage Response During A Film Session With The Raptors: “I Ain’t Passing For The F—ing Hell Of It. My Job’s To Score.”

From everything we’ve seen so far, it’s safe to say Kawhi Leonard is a pretty quiet dude who likes to keep to himself. Despite being one of the best players on the planet, he has no social media (at least none that he’s active on) and attracts very little media attention.

But every once in awhile, Kawhi will spit out a gem that has the entire NBA community rolling.

In an appearance on “The Woj Pod,” Raptors coach Nick Nurse gave us another Leonard quote that is sure to become legendary — and it apparently went down during a film session last year:

“We were talkin’ about moving the ball, getting a little bit more ball movement, I think that rolls off everybody’s tongue all the time really easily, coaches players, media, fans — ‘oh, why don’t they move the ball more, they should move the ball.’ And it was getting a lot of momentum, especially from the second-unit guys. In the meeting, it was kinda picking up some momentum very strongly and they were talking about ‘sometimes we need to pass it for the hell of it, just to move it, just to circulate it.’

And Kawhi held up his hand and said ‘I ain’t passing for the f—-ing hell of it. My job is to score and draw double and triple teams. When I do, then it’s your job to score.’ And it was very well-timed and very well said by him.”

Kawhi had to let them know 😂

Apparently, it was one of the first times Kawhi had spoken up in a film session, and it was certainly memorable.

Eventually, Kawhi would lead that same team to their first-ever Championship, cementing the Raptors’ place in history while also cementing his own status as one of the best players in the game, averaging 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game on 49% shooting.

The dude was doing his job, and he was doing it awfully well.
