LeBron James Was Wide Open To Make The Shot And Win The Championship, But Markieff Morris Was Like JR Smith In 2018

The Los Angeles Lakers had a lot of troubles to win Game 5 of the Finals even though they had several chances to take the final lead or make the last shot of the game. It all started when LeBron James decided to pass the ball to the struggling Danny Green, who missed a wide-open 3-pointer. Following that play, the Lakers had another chance to end the Heat’s hopes and win the 2020 NBA championship but things didn’t go their way.

With left than 5 seconds on the clock, Markieff Morris had the ball in his hands, he didn’t know what to do with it and threw a pass that left the court, killing any chance the Lakers had to win the game. This play could and should have had a different ending since Morris picked the wrong spot to throw the ball. He tried to pass it to Anthony Davis, who was under the rim, while LeBron James was wide open, ready to take that final shot and end everything.

i’m gonna spend the next 100 years wondering what would’ve happened if he’d have just thrown it to a wide open lebron to win the championship pic.twitter.com/QlDi0ZNS1J

I can’t get over how wide open LeBron James was for a jumper to win the NBA Finals. pic.twitter.com/LZ7WJHt7iw

by the time it takes the ball to get there and line up the shot, Jimmy closes it out pretty easy. just my opinion. Davis had all sorts of position + Bam trapped under the rim. guess we'll never know.

This play was a mess. Morris looked really bad after that and fans started to compare him to JR Smith and his blunder in the 2018 NBA Finals.

JR Smith 2.0

Yeah Morris completely panicked with the game on the game. He looked like JR Smith 2.0.

It looks like LeBron doesn’t have any luck with his teammates in the Finals. Back in 2018, Smith damaged the Cavaliers’ chance to win the championship and now Morris did something similar. He gave hope to the Heat, who will take any opportunity they’ll have to beat the Lakers.

Game 6 of the Finals is set to take place on Sunday night, with the Heat trying to force a Game 7 against a Lakers team decided to finish things up once and for all.
