NBA Rumors: L.A. Lakers Could Form ‘Big Three’ With Kevin Love, LeBron James, And Anthony Davis

On the cusp of winning their first Championship since 2010, the last thing the Lakers are worried about is trading for a star this offseason. As the defending Champs, nobody would blame them if they ran it back again with the same crew next year.

Still, that doesn’t change the fact that there is room for improvement on the roster, especially in the frontcourt.

As the competition in the West grows stronger, it might be in L.A.’s best interest to trade for a big name to plug next to LeBron and AD — and, according to NBA Analysis Network, they might already have someone in mind: Cleveland’s Kevin Love, a one-time Champion and former teammate of James.

This could finally be the offseason in which the Cleveland Cavaliers move on from Kevin Love, and if so, could he reunite with LeBron James?

The biggest question with this trade, is could Love and Anthony Davis play alongside each other in the front court?

As with all super teams, there is only one basketball to go around, and some players have to adjust to lower numbers at the expense of the success of the team.

If Cleveland decides to trade Love, he’d likely want to go to a contender at this stage of his career. James and Davis could be ideal running mates, assuming the trio commits to sharing the ball.

A package including Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, KCP, and picks might just be enough to pull off the deal — but is it really one worth doing for L.A.?

To give up that depth for Kevin Love is a pretty big risk, especially considering his age and injury history.

It is worth noting, however, that Love and James worked well together in Cleveland, where they made four NBA Finals appearances in a span of four years. Love’s rebounding and perimeter shooting were nice compliments to Bron and Kyrie Irving.

Alongside Anthony Davis, nobody knows how it would work. But if the Lakers want to bring another star to play with their dynamic duo, they could certainly do a worse than a 5x All-Star with 11 years of experience under his belt.
