Giannis Antetokounmpo has confirmed he is the real deal after winning his second consecutive MVP award on Friday morning. The Greek Freak was a complete beast during the regular season, taking the Milwaukee Bucks to have the best record in the league while averaging 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists per outing this campaign.

This award was the recognition for a great season individually speaking, but Giannis has his eyes set on the bigger prize, the NBA trophy. This season, he failed to take the Bucks to the promised land, getting dominated by the Miami Heat in the second round of the playoffs and losing 4-1 against Jimmy Butler and co. After that, rumors have seen the light placing Giannis out of Milwaukee either this season or the next one.

After receiving his MVP trophy, Giannis spoke out about his future with the franchise, explaining he’s looking to win that championship and making it clear that his agents will try to put him in the best position to win, either with the Bucks or somewhere else.

“I have two great agents that help with that, and I know they’re going to put me in the best situation to be successful with the team or another team. But at the end of the day, I had a great conversation with the owner. And as I know so far, we’re on the same page. And I want to be in Milwaukee for the rest of my career. But at the end of the day, we’ve got to want the same thing, which is a championship.

“As long as everybody is on the same page and as long as everybody is fighting for the same thing … every single day, which is to be a champion, I don’t see why not be in Milwaukee for the next 15 years?”

Giannis’ desire is to stay in Milwaukee. He even met with Bucks’ owner to discuss what to do from now on and how the team can improve the level for next season. He is trying to find a way to stay in Wisconsin but it’s also worth noting that he mentioned the possibility of joining another team. Only time will tell what decision he makes; if the Bucks fail to make it to the Finals next year, Giannis will probably try to find a new team in the league.
