Dwight Howard Says The Lakers Will Play Against The Raptors In The Finals

The Los Angeles Lakers demonstrated they’re still the team that dominated everybody before the NBA shutdown. The Purple and Gold pulled off a huge victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night, with LeBron James scoring the game-winner for his side.

They sent a message to the rest of the Conference. They’re the best team in the West the victory over their closest pursuer confirms that. A lot of people believe the two Angelenos teams will fight for a spot in the Finals and now the advantage seems to belong to the Lakers. Big man Dwight Howard is convinced his team will make it to the big series and he’s already predicted who will be their rivals.

Oshae Brissett of the Toronto Raptors shared a video of himself with Howard walking down a hallway at the Orlando bubble, with Howard claiming the 2020 NBA Finals will be the Lakers facing the Raptors.

They were joking more than anything but it’s not a secret that Toronto has a big case to make the Finals for the second consecutive year. They rank second in the East, only behind the Milwaukee Bucks of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Raptors already shocked the world last year, when they made it and won the Finals against the Golden State Warriors. Kawhi Leonard is no longer with the team but that hasn’t stopped them from having a terrific season, repeating as one of the candidates to win the Eastern Conference.

Maybe Dwight’s predictions are right and we have a Raptors-Lakers Finals. Nick Nurse has done a terrific job this year and that’s not finished for the Canadians.

Curiously, the Raptors resume play against the Lakers tomorrow at 8.30 PM ET. We might be seeing a sneak peek of the 2020 NBA Finals on Saturday night.
