The Toronto Raptors lost 113-108 to the New York Knicks. But the disappointing loss to their division rivals isn’t going to be the pressing matter on their mind, as young All-Star Scottie Barnes went down with an ankle injury during the game. He could be heard telling the doctors he couldn’t feel his foot, before being taken to the locker room with the assistance of the medical staff.

“I can't feel my foot.” 😳

Karl-Anthony Towns and Scottie Barnes got into a collision during the third quarter. Both players looked to be in pain after the incident, but clearly, Barnes was worse for wear, as he had to be taken out of the game and get checked out by the Raptors’ team doctors.

Prior to the injury, Barnes was playing quite well against the Knicks. In just 23 minutes on the court, Barnes had 15 points (5-11 FG), five rebounds, and three assists. But his time was cut short due to the serious injury.

After the game, Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic revealed that Barnes had suffered a tweaked ankle. He added that the team would know more about his prognosis after Barnes undergoes an X-ray tomorrow. But the initial signs suggest that things are not looking good.

Losing Barnes will be a massive blow for the Raptors but by no means are they a strong playoff team at the moment. Any chance of post-season success for the Raptors will dissipate should they find Barnes’ injury to be serious or even potentially season-ending.

This season, Barnes has played really well, averaging 20.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 46.1% from the field, 31.0% from beyond the arc, and 72.5% from the free-throw line.
