Pistons forward Derrick Rose has had a lot of ups and downs over the course of his 10-year career. After winning the NBA MVP award in 2011, he suffered a series of brutal injuries that not only sidelined for long stretches of games but also stunted his game, which has never been the same since his early years with the Bulls.
These past two seasons, Rose is playing with the spark that made him so famous just a decade ago. For Rose, however, he’s more focused on earning that elusive championship more than anything else. It’s time to win, and he knows that more than anyone else.

It remains to be seen whether Detroit has what it takes to give Rose what he’s after. They traded their franchise center, Andre Drummond, for practically nothing, their only remaining star (Blake Griffin) has been riddled with tragic injuries and the Pistons have struggled to lure in free agents since the end of their glory days in the 80s, the 90s, and early 2000s.
Needless to say, the team is not in a good way right now and there’s no clear end in sight for their struggles.
At 31-years-old, Rose still has time to find his niche, but if he wants a chip, he may have to leave the Pistons to get it.
