NBA Rumors: 3 Blockbuster ‘All-In’ Trades For Devin Booker

NBA superstar players are now expected to be competing for NBA titles these days. The days of a superstar player basking in mediocrity is something of the past. Either team start offering trade packages for them, or the superstars themselves request trades to place them in better positions to win.

Contents
  • Minnesota Timberwolves
  • Philadelphia 76ers
  • Atlanta Hawks

For Devin Booker, that time might be now. He is morphing it to a sensational offensive player, averaging 26.1 PPG on 48.7% shooting. Booker has improved every aspect of his offensive game and now has the ability to create shots off the dribble along with his catch and shoot prowess. In a nutshell, Devin Booker is one of the hottest commodities in the NBA right now.

Here are the three blockbuster all-in trades for Devin Booker.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Devin Booker Minnesota Timberwolves

Trade Package: LaMelo Ball, James Johnson, Jarrett Culver, Josh Okogie, 2020 first-round draft pick from Brooklyn for Devin Booker

*(Brooklyn’s 1st round pick to Minnesota (via Atlanta) protected for selections 1-14 in 2020, 1-14 in 2021 and 1-14 in 2022; if Brooklyn has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Minnesota by 2022, then Brooklyn will instead convey its 2022 2nd round pick and 2024 2nd round pick to Minnesota)

The Timberwolves fought tooth and nail to bring D’Angelo Russell to Minnesota and pair him with Karl-Anthony Towns. Because right now they have two All-Star players who truly enjoy playing with each other. Adding a third score to this duo would give the T-Wolves the best big three in the league (since there aren’t Big Threes at the moment). Each one of these young players can drop 20 in their sleep So this would be an unbelievable haul for Minnesota.

Towns is averaging 26.5 PPG and 10.8 RPG, Russell is averaging 21.7 PPG and 6.6 APG, and Booker is averaging 26.1 PPG and 6.6 APG. Clearly, these three guys would make the Wolves an immediate contender in the West.

Philadelphia 76ers

Trade Package: Ben Simmons and Zhaire Smith for Devin Booker

It might seem crazy that the 76ers would trade Ben Simmons, who is their franchise player and one of the best young prospects in the NBA. Simmons is already an All-Star and the sky’s the limit for his game offensively and defensively. But the prospect of pairing Booker with Embiid might be too good to reject.

Joel Embiid and Devin Booker could recreate a modern version of Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. Booker has the scoring ability that Kobe had, while Embiid has the size and skills of a modern-day Shaq. While we will never see a duo quite as dominant and talented as Shaq and Kobe, Booker and Embiid can come close.

The Sixers clearly have not found admirable this year, so perhaps moving on from Ben Simmons and replacing him with an All-Star who can shoot might be the best way to go. Simmons is only shooting 8.7% from three (yikes) while Booker is a 35.5% shooter from three albeit with a high volume.

Atlanta Hawks

Trade Package: James Wiseman, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter and Dewayne Dedmon for Devin Booker

This would be a massive haul for the Phoenix Suns, who lose their franchise scorer again an unbelievable mix of four young talented players. This trade will essentially leave the Atlanta Hawks building around Trae Young, Clint Capela, and the newly acquired Devin Booker. But what a trio that will be, because Capella can man the middle while Booker and Young do all their damage from the perimeter.

The Hawks have an exciting core without Booker, but adding him to an All-Star in Trae Young and also potential defensive All-Star in Capella would make the Hawks immediately a formidable opponent in the East. If the Hawks managed to grab one of the top picks in the NBA draft, pairing it with a young prospect in John Collins and especially De’ Andre Hunter would be enough of a package for Phoenix to accept for their disgruntled star.
