Steph Curry Flames NFL For Wanting To Play ‘Black National Anthem’ Before Their Games

1 Min Read

In an apparent effort to uplift and empower the Black community, the NFL has committed to playing the song “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing” (also known as the black national anthem) before each week 1 game.

While many believe it’s an awesome and well-intended action by the NFL, some have their doubts, including Golden State’s Steph Curry. He questioned the effectiveness of the decision and NFL’s intentions in an Instagram comment that has since gone viral.

“Can someone please explain to me how this solves anything???????”

The NFL doesn’t exactly have a good track record when it comes to social justice issues. In the case of Colin Kaepernick, the NFL pretty much blackballed him from the league for his decision to kneel for the anthem.

They’ve taken optimistic steps recently, and have shown outward steps in supporting the BLM movement. But clearly, it’s not enough to convince everyone they’re on the right side.

As for Steph, he has been one of the biggest advocates for the BLM movement. He has made statements and even taken part in protests dedicated to the cause. He’s as invested as anyone.
